Dyno readings.
You get what you put into your hipo motor.Meaning if you want the max performance from your performance parts you must consider dyno tuning your
engine.
So raise your right hand if you,ve got a hipo engine and have never had it dyno tuned, come on no-one is looking.Keith and i never used a dyno up
until this year on my engine but now after a couple of sessions find it invaluable.
Dyno,s don,t lie. Craig Torrens posted his sheet and knowing a little about his engine, but not enough i can tell you his motor would definatley be
making that hp.
The variables arise when people start runnning stinger exhausts instead of mufflers, small pulleys or really loose fan belts, air cleaners off or on
etc.
Ihad my car dyno,ed at CB performance on their open day, it made 123.0 rwhp. Two years later i ran the car on a dyno in Tamworth and made
121.8rwhp.Both were Dyno Dynamics units.
So returning to dynoing your engine it costs very little to find potentially a heap of power. The difference between my first run and last run in my
last dyno session was 11 rwhp, for a total of 134 rwhp. This cost $200.00. money well spent ,the car idles from cold, and last week i got a comment
from another racer did i put fuel injection on the car? that how well it idles
Do yourself a favour get your car dyno tuned it,s money very wisely spent and you may find some hidden ponies.
Cheers Col

I agree whole heartedly with colin.
I have only recently found a guy up here that can work with me and my ancient mechanical injection,
but other than the outright power number,
the other benefits are knowing WHERE your power and torque peaks are.
This is a huge help in your driving style and gear ratio choice also.
There is no doubt that EFI is a nice thing,
but when you have access to a skilled tuner/dyno operator,
and you can give the engine what it wants, (with regard to fuel and ignition control),
you can get damn close with carbs or old style injection.
I hate to think how much track time and engine parts I have wasted over the last 18 years by poor(guess) tuning.
Yep, good dyno session is money well spent!
A dyno session normally costs less than one trip towing out to the track.
