Woohoo C2S season is here again

Got my city 2 surf entry in today. Also got my entry in for Sutho 2 Surf warm up. Bought new shoes last month which should be nicely run in (no pun intended) by the time the big day comes around. Must be a good shoe as they knocked 3 minutes off my previous 4 mile Mt Kembla PB. (Got flogged by the handicapper bastard but thats a different story)

Very excited. Electronic timing chips this year. Finally I'll be able to get a true time for it. Armed with more experience this year i"m hoping to go better, as the fitter I get the slower I seem to go = frustrating.
2005 started in back of pack, in a bad spot, in casual shoes (agony).
2006 started in back of pack, decent spot, but was sick. 49 secs quicker.
2007 started in blue section but ran a 7k PB meaning I was rooted for the 2nd 7km. 90 secs slower.

This is the year man! Who else is running?

My 12 yo is going in this year
He did a 91 minutes last year but my wife held him back cause she didnt want to loose him

He is doing it by himself this year

The trick is to sneak into a higher starting group - then you get a better time.
But they have stopped that now - I hear they are "chipping" this year.
No fudge on the times.
You get a true reading this year

Sorry - i can run the Bay Run 7kms - just cant do 14kms

All the best

PS
If you see a 12 yo with long hair and braces - TRIP HIM!

If he ran 91 last year then he is laughing, straight entry into the green group. No mums with prams, old ducks on a scenic walk, pissed superheros nor gorillas in tutus slowing him down!

But he snuck into the green group for his first run so he didnt have to putup with that crap

On paper he ran a 70 or something cause they thought he started further back.
91 is what the wife corrected his time to
Now he is legit - he can start in Green
