What do I need for rego in Victoria?
My van has been unregistered fir quite a while now. I am not Victorian, however I am living in Victoria. As a result I have no idea what they want
from me.
My van has been blue slipped in NSW before,but they had different requirements. I know something I have to get addressed is connecting up the heating
system. What other things will they pick on me for here?
I interrogated someone at a local place that does inspetions recently that mentioned condition of window seals as a requirement. What do they mean?
They have always leaked. The people that did the camper conversion in the first place were wonderful enough to put flat windows in a curved
'frame'.Read hole cut in the panelwork.
I have the motor running well enough now The exhaust still nees repair / replacement. I'm just not sure what else I should expect?

To get it registered you need a roadworthy certifcate plus proof of ownership.
You get a RWC from an authorised mechanic.
As a starting point make sure all the lights work, the horn, seatbelts are in good nick, wipers work, window washer system works etc. Then take it to
a specialist VW place and have a roadworthy inspection done. Most of them will give you a list of the work which is required. You can either have
them do the work or you can DIY. Most of them will issue the roadworthy certifcate once the work is complete and won't charge to check that the work
has been done.

Ah, the washers. Thanks for reminding me. Yet another job for the trusty air compressor.
I think the biggest sticking points are the lack of a heater and getting a replacement brake light sender. Apparently it burned out. The sender that
is, not the heater. I'm having trouble sourcing a replacement. There is no way I am buying a new master cylinder to just get a sender. If I can't
find one I'll have to fit a pedal position switch.
As for VW specialists here there don't really seem to be any. I did discover a local that does roadworthies that understands that a VW that doesn't
leak oil is as rare as hens teeth though. After dealing with an infuriatingly pedantic individual in Shepparton when trying to get the Magna
registered I'm very wary.
