need panel shop in melbourne - kinda urgent

Hi guys, I need a panel shop in Melbourne to restore my 1970 1500 beetle. It's an inside outside job, full restoration. Major rust on heater channel pass. side. Details are:
- Roof - rust sections, clean out gutters and dents
- Front beaver panel - rust sections
- Bonnet seal strips and panel repair
- Pull front of car
- Inside bonnet compartment
- Shave indicators
- Quarter and seam rust x 2
- Pillar and inner guard rust section both side
- Decklid seal strips
- Decklid inside/out
- Rear beaver panel
- Doors inside/out
- Quarter and rust section x 2
- Sill rust section x 2
- Dash and door jams
- Remove and refit engine
- Engine tin ware colour match

I got a quote for $11K with the paint job. I know I have to be realistic with the fee for the amount of the work. Anybody knows anyone who can do the job for a better price? I will send the car to the other side of Melbourne if I have to (I'm in Mooroolbark). My email is kodokmerahjambu@optusnet.com.au

Cheers,
Nino

Mmmmm Urgent?

Not really a resto word.

$11K Maybe in the ballpark. We do $60K - $150K resto's at our work, so maybe not for you.

Realistically for $11K once you take out $1K GST and $2K for materials you will get $8K work at $70 per hour which only gets you about 115hrs which is about 3 weeks work. Sounds pretty fair to me. Resto work usually and ultimately always takes longer rather than less time.

I always say try getting a plumber, electrician, mechanic, doctor, whatever for three weeks and you will probably pay more. $11K sounds good so far.
