Slipping clutch (Squareback with 1835cc)
Hey everyone. Have just put my 1835 into my squareback. After driving it for 1 hour the clutch started sliping when changing gears. Was just told that
I need a performance clutch for it and will cost around $450 - 500. Will this cost any major damage if I drive it around for a few weeks. I noticed
when I change gears without any accelaration it doesnt slip much. Any thoughts about this would be great as I am driving down to adelaide
tommorrow.
thanks guys.

Do you have the correct free play on the pedal?

Has the friction face of the flywheel been skimmed without taking equal amount off the mounting face?

Took engine back out today. I think that I hadnt tighten the 6 bolts up to the correct torque, as after I did this the clutch seems to be ok. Fingers
crossed.

Now I know whats goiong on. After tightening the pressure plate bolt up, the clutch seemed to be working ok, but then out of no where it started
grinding when I pushed the clutch in. The problem that the engine was set up for a Automatic and had the same fly wheel nut used, not the manuel one
with the baring inside. Replaced it and everything is running smooth.
