usa suppliers
does anyone use usa suppliers for things like screen rubbers and window rubbers? how did you find the product and service i am having all sorts of
trouble getting them to even answer a email ?

Add in the freight cost from the US, and the prices level out. There is no sea freight from the US any more, so it all has to be airfreight.
If you still want to go OS, try Wolfsburg West or CIP1. I have used both and they were responsive and helpful.

If you're looking for US based, I'd recommend Chirco located in Tuscon.... http://www.chirco.com Don and Joe are pretty good to deal with. But as volumex says airfrieght may be a killer.

my experience is aircooled.net is best.
As per they are usually the dearest
Alot of the stuff is cheaper. Yes cheaper. Not better.
A lot of the USA stuff is price driven
Shop locally and make sure apples are apples
But yes the Aus $ at 95c is great at the moment

vintage vw they supply metric rubbers the catalogue is comprehensive you might even be able to get catalogue mailed to you so you can order exactly
what you need.
proper preparation prevents piss poor performance

Wolfsburg West.... without fail.
Can have stuff to you in less than a week.
They will only ship UPS or Fed Ex though, which can push the price up. If you are ordering a lot of stuff, it will work out cheaper than paying some
of the over inflated prices locally. I know its good to support local, but NOTHING has come down in price since the AU dollar went from 50c in the US$
to 98c to the US$.
I have some stuff shipped to me here in the US, and then post it USPS to OZ for friends when they want stuff from wolfsburg west and CB Performance
etc who only deal with UPS and Fed Ex.
Cip1 will ship USPS, so that may work out for you too.

Just buy the rubbers direct from West Coast Metric. I bought a full; set for a beetle and paid about $600 less than vintage quoted me after I had paid
for all the freight costs. And that saving was last year when we didn't have the exchange rate that we have now. You would have to be crazy not to
buy them direct at the moment.

Buying direct may save you a few dollars but when comparing with local prices just keep in mind that the local guys are paying a heap of tax's and
have to charge GST on top as well as allow for warranty and the likes. Also the volume of the local market just isn't there.
