my little project so far
well thought id upload some pics of my little project ive had going on and off since last novermber. my 1969 beetle that i bought with rotted out
floors and sills. probably paid too much for it but oh well i love it.
this is what it looked like when i bought it

so the body got pulled off and i welded in some new floors and sills and did a nice few patches here and there

putting it all back together slowly and just doing bits here and there. turning it into a baja. played around with the dash a bit.

Hey mate, looking good. Simplicity of the dash looks cool.
Question: is that an original piece at the pedals? Or a LHD piece cut for pedals on RHD. IF original, when did they come in? Never noticed them/felt
them under foot before.

don't really know about the piece at the pedals. was like that when i bought it. And the Porsche is one that my boss had nearly finished restoring
before i started working there. Its a pretty damn nice car.

which piece are u talking about mick?
cos everything there is standard RHD stuff
little box thing on the left of the tunnel is just the cover for the accelarator arm and the panel over the pedal is just the foot rest
these are only on late 68 onwards bugs but nearly all from the late 50s had a passenger side foot rest
just alot got chucked out when ppl replace carpets or clutch cables

yeh the pedal foot rest one. I knew there was a passenger one as standard but not that there was a driver side one as standard. Will check if the 69 i
used to drive had one, never noticed it while driving. As you said it may have been chucked out.
