shorter shocks only 5mm shorter?

i was told by mick motors that the shorter shocks that u can buy are only 5mm shorter than the standard ones....???????:!: :?:

i am goin back to mick motors tomorrow and planning on buying some standard length shock for my lowered type 3.... hopefully there will be enough travel for 2 outer splines...

What sort of shocks are You after??

the rear VW shocks - horizontal bolt holes in both ends..

there are heaps available -

but they are sold - to fit ??

measure what You need or think You need, go to ebay and when you see shocks like that
ask the seller to tell you the compressed length
center of hole to hole
and the extended length - centre of hole to hole

ones that fit early Toyotas etc on the front should do..

cheers - best of luck..

Lee

I have some rear shocks here
they are Gabriel - made in the USA - oil shocks

Closed up - 28cms from centre of top hole to centre of bottom hole

Opened Out - 45cms from top to bottom hole

these are new - I'm about to put them on My beetle..
but, I don't know what they were supposed to fit??

part number was on a sticker - P6051
not sure if that was all the number??

Maybe that size would fit Your type 3..??

but maybe You can buy shocks by the length...

best of Luck

LEE
