Are my handbrake levers on incorrect?

Hi all .

I have been installing new rear wheel bearings and brakes in my 72 beetle and noticed what might be a problem with the hand brake levers. When I took the drums off I noticed that the HB lever was installed on the inside of the shoe, not on the outside. The HB cable goes behind the back shoe and clips onto the lever. Both sides are the same so I can only assume that who ever did the brakes before I bought it got the right and left levers mixed up? Just double checking before I put it back together

Thanks, Brad.
