44 idf webers

Hi, ive got a set of 44 idf webers on my beetle but to accomodate them i have to have the deck lid on "standoff" kit which i dont particularily like, how can i get around this problem and will shorter manifolds work but looking at shortining doesnt look like it may work as it looks like the linkages still foul in the way, any help is much appreciated. Cheers

IT shouldn't need standoffs.......I have several beetles with 44idfs with long and medium length manifolds and they can all have the engine lid closed.

Post a photo if you can so I can have a look at your linkage setup and current manifolds.

I had 44s on my old oval and had no problems at all, it was tight but the lid shut no problems, they where on a 2180 stroker motor, I had to run short air filters but they all fit realy well :tu:

If you drive an aircooled Volkswagen be proud of it and leave the aircooled engine in it!!!
