Is stealing wrong?
Gotta talk to my church about "stealing" on Sunday. Just wondering what you guys think about it.
Is stealing wrong?
What's the worst "theft" that's happened to you? VW or otherwise... And what were the consequences for you and the thief?

wrong wrong wrong...........hate it!
...........sometimes it's not even what's gone missing, but the feeling of "invasion" that's left lingering, that causes the most damage.
..........that sickening feeling of it happening again anytime............i would definately make a point of mentioning this side of it Pete

When i was a younger chap, up until 16 or so (just before i became a christian) i would steal occasionally and i was pretty good at it too. I would
mainly pocket things from stores, not often, i can probably remember 5 or 6 instances. I used to change barcodes around, or once i bought a golf bag
and paid for it but had stashed things inside the zips.
To be honest Pete, if i hadn't become a christian i would most likely have continued in the occasional steal.
Tax is a big one! who cheats on their tax returns, or pay cash deals with shops instead of putting the item on the books or getting paid cash in hand
- all a form of stealing right???

What about stealing work time? Maybe you want something better to illustrate, but that's something we all do - foreign orders during work, personal
phone calls etc.

Why not? That was the premise with which you started the thread.
How about the Jewish cult that is often called Christianity stealing pagan festivals and making them the core celebrations of their own cult?

Wash Your mouth out with Soap....
thats just "Normal"
The only thing I can remember getting stolen is Our first TV set just after i was married... so We were without a TV set until We got it back about 4
months later...
it was stolen by a person I knew and He lived about 1km away on the same road....
back then TVs were expensive items...
and insurance was something You couldn't afford... lol
I think Vandalism is possibly worse than theft..
but if Either happened to me...
I wouldn't like it...
Lee
PS: I ate a grape at Woolies last year... does that count..

Saturnalia / Winter Solstice / Natalis Invicti Solis / Yule / Hanukkah --> becomes Christmas
Eostre / Osiris, Dionysus, and Orpheus (all of whom had virgin birth, death and resurection) / Passover --> Easter
There's hundreds more examples. When you look beyond what the Jewish cult of Christ says you can read you'll see its whole history is based on
cultural and intellectual theft.

I remember quite a few years ago when I was working at Karringal Bilo (The feral suburb of Frankston - and that is saying something). One day at
work, I told a "customer" to P.off and not come back because they were stealing chocolates and eating stuff without paying etc.
3 Days later I am driving to work and the whole street is sealed of with police tape and cops everywhere. I manage to find some back way of making it
to work that day and on the news that night, the guy who I caught stealing was murdered. His ex wife and her boyfriend drove their car through his
bedroom window while he was alseep and pinned him down, cut off his fingers and stabbed him to death (all these people were "customers" to our
humble little store BTW!).
I'm guessing there is such a thing as Karma.
I used to always get my valve caps knocked off fromt he car park at that store all the time as well.

I just remembered I had My alloy valve caps and chromed stem covers stolen this year...
Luckily I had spares...
and they didn't cost a fortune....
but I have nice alloy valve caps with the VW emblem in color on the top...
bought on ebay from overseas...
they do lock on with an allen key...
but they are still packed.....
one day I will put them on...

In some cultures stealing without getting seen or caught is considered earning the rights to the items.

One of my neighbours wanted to get rid of a 18 year old fridge that still worked so he left it on his nature strip with a sign on it "Working Fridge
- Free". It sat on his nature strip for 2 weeks and no one was interested. He changed the sign "For Sale, $350 or best offer". It was stolen
during the night.

My mum can go one better...
She put an electrical stereo out on the curb. SAid same thing... free stereo to nice home...then she put a tarp over it with bricks on each
corner...she even had it sitting on a piece of carpet
I kid you not...first the tarp was stolen on the first night... the brick on the second along with the carpet piece. No one took the stereo.
It went back into the shed ready to be thrown at next counsell pick up. Who knows...maybe someone will take it home then.

And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my

For me it (i.e. not stealing) is about the reward of earning what you have. There is a satisfaction in knowing that you deserve what you have.
Stealing is just laziness with some greed thrown in ... my 2c worth

Why not Lee? The question was raised within the guise of religion. A religion that has theft at its heart.

matt i don't think that the question was raised in the guise of religion. he was just explaining why he was asking the question. would you have a
problem if it was to talk to a school class?
if you have a problem with his religion, well, errr, get over it. normally i'd just move on and find another thread but the one thing i'm really
intolerant of is intolerance.
before you ask i'm not christian, i don't believe in "god" and i don't like organised religions full stop (they often breed intolerance), but
feel that everyone should be allowed to believe/do what they want as long as it doesn't fu#k up others.
end rant here.

Same as me... and the religion he practices is all about intolerance. "Only through me" is the height of intolerance and
arrogance.
If religion isn't going to be discussed - particularly one with such a disgusting history (including its recent history) as the Judaic cult of
Christianity then he shouldn't have raised it.
Those who despise intolerance should despise a religion who has it as their stock in trade.
And nothing has fucked up people like the church!

I grew in London where you never bought anything new, you always knew someone who could get it "cheaper" for you. I've stolen and been stolen from,
it's not nice but sh*t happens and you have to get over it. I never bought a new TV until I came to Oz as I'd lost all of my contacts. I had a nice
set of Wolfrace wheels stolen from a beetle in England, came out of a girlfriends' house to go home and there's my pride and joy sitting on a pile
of bricks Pissed me off big time but it gave me the opportunity
to get some Compomotive wheels that I actually prefered and suited the car better. A mate got them for me at agood price When stuff just gets damaged for no good reason really cheesed me off,
like breaking into my KG to try (they never actually succeeded because the thief was expecting the stereo to fall out from under the dash!) to steal
the stereo by smashing the window. I ended up having to drive half way across the south of England to get a replacement door glass....twice
