Not sure where you are (not in your profile) but Lawrence up here in Brissy at German Autos has quite a good reputation with volkswagen (and porsche) gearboxes.

I have my swingaxle box in there at the moment.

Dasdubber, can you please let me know, when you get your swingaxel gearbox back from German Autos, what it cost to get done. I've got one to get 'fixed' too and I'd lke to know the costs involved.
Thanks.

No probs, I think it will be around $600 but most likely mine will be a bit more because I am getting 3rd and 4th gears welded as well as an adaptor collar put in so I can run the later throw out bearing. Plus super diff and heavy duty side plate (not that that will be more expensive for the actual rebuild).

Short answer - yep I'll let you know how much!

Gearbox

Jan over at Wolfsburg in St.Peters Sydney rebuilt the gearbox in my splitty. Did a good job, but it wasn't cheap. To give him credit it was a drive in drive out job.

There aren't many people in Sydney that have the tools/knowledge to do this sort of work.

Cheers

Steve

Both CT & I just had identical close ratio gearboxes built by Richard Holzl at V-Force in Sydney. He's at Mortlake 97431247.

I think the "Henry" you refer to is ...

Henry Spikack (?)

Where he works is anyone's guess.

I'm sure there are people here who would know him.
