I'm rebuilding a 1911 type 4 to install and overhauling the auto as well, then i'm selling it should be on the road soon.

I converted one for a mate not so long ago... not difficult bit easier if you've got everything you need... worth keeping an eye out for a wagon or
fasty as doner!

We had one done up from "rustbucket in a paddock" status to "headturner".
We had been looking for about 3 years and only saw one other for around
the 6K mark.
They don't come up that often. Definitely not every 2nd one.

Yep, hard to find. I have even been toying with the idea of a non VW auto box. Not really sure how hard or feasible that would really be though.
