| Bellhousing questions

Is it only the kombi/caravelle bellhousings that are removable? if so, is the bolt pattern where it bolts to the box the same for all models?

To bolt a type 1 into a type 2 trans, you will need to put a type 1 input shaft in it (or cut a little off the type 2 one). This applies to gearboxes
made for the type 4 engine.

Thanks Wes....the reason for the questions, is I have a renault 5sp box now, and found someone that makes adaptor plates to fit a vw bellhousing to
the renault box.

however he didnt say what type of vw bellhousing. I'm hoping to use a caravelle one so I can use a hydraulic clutch.
