Bonnet Seal
Hi
I have read on here that you can get a clip on seal for the bonnet.
I had too remove the seal retainer strip for my daughters 73 beetle as it was badly rusted.
Wad thinking off bending up some stainless and pop riveting it on to retain the original seal but the clip on sound heaps simpler.
Where would i get one.
Thanks Trevor

Clarke rubber will get you out of trouble ,you need the pinchweld with the rubber on it and you clip it on the lip of the bonnet, you can use it for
the decklid as well

Hnag On
I grabbed some pinch weld but how the heck does that work. Pinch weld is designed too push on a flat lip and provide a seal parralell with the lip.
The bonnet and boot lip is at right angles too where the seal needs too be. Second, how does it seal around the catches at the bottom and also at
the top of the bonnet.

Got the wrong pinchweld. You can find the right one, but I'd go the mexican.

Is the mexican one long enough to go around the Super/L Bug bonnet?
Clark Rubber is great - around 100 different seals available in my local store...

The guy at vintage said you have too use the top section off an original seal, the part that pushes into the holes and then the mexican does that
rest. Is the Super/L an L for longer than normal bonnet.
If it is, maybe they make one for that as well.
