install front torsion bars


hi, having trouble getting the front torsion arms onto the leaves, especially the top one, i cant seem to get it to go on the last 40 mm ,can anyone tell me what i need to do. thanks grogy

all grub screws out
have you tryed turning the leaves around and once i had to weld the leaves together only a small run it worked dont ask me why or how it just did

thanks, do u mean taking out even the grub screws in the middle of the beam

yep and then put the arm in and push the leaves through to it when thats ok tighten the end not the middel grub screw and then try the other side

Check that the beam isnt bent.....if it is bent slightly you wont be able to get the arms back on.

i can get em right in [bottom all the way] up to 40 mm out on the top bar. its not bent its new 4 inch narrowed beam. thanks anyway

try with he arm up the wrong way and take out the grub screws all of them

that answers most questions....

the torsion leaves may have a burr on them

use a file to smooth them off...

having the leaves inside the beam is half the trouble normally....

also check for a burr on the arm it self...

but its normally the end of the leaves...

hi , thanks everyone for your help , it worked, well at least the arms are on with grub screws on em, the center ones arent sure if they lined up or not, cause grub screws are still out and i couldnt get em in too dark under there, have to wait till tomorro afternoon
