Whats the go with permits for fraser?


I heard through the grapevine that permits are required for fraser?, so if no permits are sorted in time for the trip whats the point in going? oh thats right,its a hilux weekend!!! any info would be good cheers

All cars on fraser need permits to access the island, these can be book and paid for on the government web site here is the link.

what about the (4wd only)
is there an extra fee if you planed to get bogged alot in a vw ;)

Yeah sorry guys I should have been more specific, I mean the permits to allow 2wd on fraser not the general permits you require to be on the island

I was there not long ago and it is still just show up to the rangers office and get your camping and vehicle permit and your on your way no trouble for buggys (YET) there is a sign that says not 2wds past this point on the way to the barge but thats to keep the local pesent off the beach in there xf station wagon Have fun people



You only need two tools
Wd40 if it don't move and it should
Duct tape if it move's and it shouldn't

you will go further on fraser than you would in 95% of 4WD's anyway. and if you get stuck on fraser in a VW then you are seriously doing something wrong.
