mine is the buggy in the middle. the bar is made of aluminiumized steel exhaust pipe with a 1.5mm stainless skidplate. Worked a treat at stockton.
sadly, I blew the gearbox up and it's been off the road since.
heres the build pics for the bar... http://www.geocities.com/peterwood7311/buggyproject/buggyproject17.html

POD, the small lights look cooler, but the larger lights are safer, i guess the larger one would be easier to replace should an "accident "
happen!
DUB CRAZY, are the rear bars on the last 2 pics "legal" i was told protruding metal was unacceptable, they are concerned with the leading edges of
my roo bar even though i got em tucked under the guards! (same with PODS rear bar work)
KEEP ON DUBBIN!

All the pics are of cars past and presant and all are/were on the road. As long as the bar work is not sticking out past the line of the guards and
has no sharp points then its legal (i am in QLD) so yes in answer to ur question vwjon its all legal.
yes the green one is my current drive, used daily . no problems with roadworthys in regards to the bar work.
Running a EA82T subaru engine .

cheers dubcrazy, Im in WA things are abit strickter here, its taken me 7months to get a permit to modify, they arnt happy with the rear bar i made up
cos it came off the front of a ford, "people might think its a car coming towards them" thats what the inspector told me! i replied by saying the
bars got red and amber lights fitted to it, and its bolted to the rear of a vw beetle, anyone who confuses that with a car travelling in the opposite
direction doesn't deserve to be on the road!!
in the uk things are alot easier, theres a book to follow, and so long as its legal for its MOT every year you got no worries, no permits, no
compliance certs, just an easier ride!
