WTB: stainless steel strips for 76 bug

I'm after a set of stainless steel strips for my 76 bug if anyone has a set they want to part with. Even just a few of the strips I'd be interested in. I'm on the Central Coast. Thanks.

give Vintage a call 9789-1777 in Campsie they can get you a good S/H set

The 76 had alloy side strips so the ones you need are of 68 to 70 model bugs but will fit you will also need the plastic trim clips new as these tend to deteriate and wont hold the new side strips

I have a set of thin alloy strips - will check tomorrow to ensure they are all good condition (which I think they are) - no plastic clips though.

im pretty sure it was during 73 they went from stainless to alloy so 68-73standard bug stainless ones will work but the hood one will be longer cos 73 on beetles dont have the VW badge on hood

me to but its not original
i swapped them for the stainless ones of my 71 Sbug
ppl like me change them to stainless cos the alloy stuff looks like shit and bends/dents easy

ive had 3 74 bugs that were original with alloy
yet my 2 73Ls and 71 S had stainless plus a 72 i wrecked
go figure

its definately a 76, and would rather the stainless steel. I agree the alloy ones are shitty. I now have all except the bonnet, a short one would be fine, I think we may be putting a badge on the hood (not original but I like them!)
