Ghia Subaru conversion has anyone done one
I know I shouldn't but I am thinking of putting turbo subaru in my almost restored Ghia. Has anyone done it out there. I have done the conversion on
three bay kombis I have owned and it hard to back to high dollar VW horse power and high maintenance.

Yeah there was a nice Karmann Ghia at the Gold Coast Show a couple of years ago that had a very neat subaru conversion.

there was a nice one in hot vws and dune buggies, i think it was in Hawaii, it looked like there was heaps of room,

Cool thanks for the help fellows I have seen the one in the Hot vws but these pics gives a better view of the fit and the reason i asked was i thought
if some one local had done it i could find out any tricky bits .

Hi There,
Having restored a Ghia and a Type 3 and working with Subarus it is an dream of mine.
I know a few guys out there have put Subaru motors in Type 3 Fast Backs and Notchbacks and from my experience there is not a great deal of difference
you will have between the 2. Biggest trouble is flow and return pipes to the front and getting air to the radiator, can be a good idea to go with a
water to air intercooler to keep the hidden look.
Go for it.
Make sure you have a strong gearbox and engine mounts.
