Buying a Kombi. Anyone experienced with coast to coast kombis
Im looking to purchase an 8 seater Kombi over the coming months and im looking at my options. Do I buy a good one privately ready to go or do i employ
a VW business to build one for me? Have looked at Coast to Coast kombis in Southport Qld, they look like they do some nice work. Has anyone had any
experience with dealing this company and if so, how was the experience?
Alternatively, can anyone recommend any other business in Northern NSW / Southern Qld that could build a good kombi for me?
All replies very much appreciated

hi mate,
I bought my kombi from Coast to Coast.
From Ian to be more specific, really nice pomy guy, but I have a feeling he has moved back to England shire haha. So I don't know who is running the
deal now, but they were very nice. Very happy with what I bought, not the type to take you for a run around the bush or trick you in any way. I.e Few
months after I bought mine the gearbox crapped out, which was my fault (dont put it into reverse no matter how slowly you are moving forward, anyways,
was camping at main beach, had to be back in brissy the next day, call up Ian, come over to our campsite has a look.. says its definately gone.
Arranges his towing mate to tow it back to HIS house. Next day, dad and i go round, Ian says righto. here is a spare 1600 box i have sitting around. i
will teach you how to out it in. (fairly big job for first time) Mind you this is a SUNDAY. all he wanted was $100... Top bloke.
So if that is any indication of what the rest of the crew is like... they are a good place to start. I'm not saying don't shop around, but i dont
think they will do you wrong. then again, that is just my experience.
Cheers
Josh (sorry for the long post ahah)
