Shannons

Not often there is a good report on an insurance company but credit when it's due. Recently had a bit of a problem with my direct debit to Shannons, they sent me text messages to advise me that the payment wasn't being made from my bank account so after about 2 months I decided to change the payments to come from another bank account, rang them and they advised me that the policy had been cancelled because of non payment, can't blame them for that, took about 5 minutes and they had a new policy going AT A REDUCED PREMIUM!!!!. Certainly cant complain about that. After I had hung up, my lady mentioned that the soob's insurance was due the next day so rang em back to get a quote, saved close to $200 on the soob then they reduced the premium on the buggy again as we now have two cars insured with them. Bloody top service I reckon.

well the buggy is on an occasional use policy and the soob is just plain standard everyday insurance.

Yep been using them for a few years like this , only thing they won't currently insure is if the vehicle is used for bussiness use

Yes, My beetle is on restricted use...
5,000 kms a year or something like that..

I'll have to check on My Lancer insurance...

I do remember that My green slip was over $100 cheaper because My beetle was insured...
the first time it wasn't insured - as it wasn't registered..

cheers

I have 3 cars insured with them including a daily driver. Been with them for the last 10 or 12 years. One "huge" claim. They never disappointed me :tu:

Hi

I have my new 1303 on laid up cover with them. My daily 1303 is with them also and now that my 17 year old son is sometimes using it, I rang them and they have put him on 50% usage with only a few hundred dollars increase in premiums.

My other car a Prado is with IAG with whom I get a staff discount, they wouldn't want to know about insuring a slightly modified bug.

Top marks to Shanons again.

Yes,
Most insurance companies don't want to know about any accessories other than a CB and driving lights...

so add lowered front end etc.. and lots of modifications

and they run for cover...

I might check Shannons out for the house and contents too..

You didn't have to list everything in the house did you??
NRMA want you to list everything... everything...

put bars and locks on the windows etc..

Guard dogs and electric fence... [well not yet...]
