If I had the cash i would have it. Genuine good original split, not a rust bucket patched up like most. Good luck with sale, hope it stays in SA

I was hoping to play a bit of a trick on you. I did buy the S.A. Pale blue splittie, ... Well technically it was mine. The guy’s wife called me, and
said she’d be calling everyone on the call back list, and I was the first. The other buyer didn’t have the money straight away. I offered the 14k,
but she said is that your best offer. I said yes, I don’t want to offer any less, I’ll give you what you want as that was a fair price and I could
deposit 3 or 5k to their account immediately. She then clarified and said a guy in Sydney had offered 15k. So I was a bit put off by that. I stood my
ground more on principal. There was some apprehension by her and her partner to sending it out side of S.A. as they had hoped it would stay in the
state. She said she’d talk with her husband.
She did call me back and said that a local guy had taken it for 15k and had already driven it away. She was always quite nice and polite right through
it all, but the changing of price and beginning to work one buyer over the other didn’t sit too well with me. Especially as they stated 14k ono. I
know that bus was worth even more than the 15k, but its fate was sealed regardless I think.
Anyway while I was waiting for her to call back, I imagined taking a photo of the pale blue girl in my drive and sending it to you with a big smile.
That day may still arrive.

Isnt that funny, now Im even angrier or maybe happy Im not sure. So you were first in line............................funny that because apparently I
was first in line and was given there word that I would be called after the local guy looked at it. He wasnt able to confirm his finance until 4.00pm
Monday, thus my oportunity came up.
Anyway I was also called and offerd the 14k, why would I offer more that what is asked. If they thought they under did themselves then be up front and
ask for more. At 7.30pm I was told I would be called back in 10 min but then at 10.30pm I was called and told sold, amazingly by a person just walking
down the street and he payed $17,000
Isnt it funny that when I spoke with the guy he said that he was offered more by someone in QLD but money was not the issue and there were people in
line first, and my wife said isnt it nice to see someone with integrity...............................ha ha ha ha.
I tell you my gut feeling on this and many of us have been in the situation. He puts it on for 14k thinking well priced to sell. They get heaps of
calls and wife then screams and says "told you it could have been sold for more". He then throws his hands up with the sh#ts and says OK you bloody
deal with it then and thus the Dutch Auction which occurred.
Sorry to Resto64 if this is people you know but we were all sucked in. I told the wife that story about integrity and she said yes we do have
integrity.................I laughed and hung up the phone.
South Africa here we come, only place I think I can afford to get a relatively rust free Splitty.

Thanks Resto, no blame on you. I prob would have paid 17k but the ethics behind playing off everyone was just not cool. I knew something was up when
told I would get the call back in 10min and it came 3 hours later.
Anyway, is the buyer anyone from the forum?

Leave the poor dude alone.
Dont know the guy PROMISE !!!! Look at it another way. Who knows what his financial situation is ? How hard is it coming to the conclusion to selling
your bus ? How many calls has the guy had ? If you put something up for sale and someone counter offered with 3k more than the next bloke whilst
standing there looking at you 2year old (Which it looks like he has) What would you do ? Sounds like a movie ?
It is so easy to take the morral high ground and lets face it 14k was way to cheap !!!! Someone could have bought it for that and sold it with in the
day for 19k........Is that you ?
Sorry if you missed a bargin because that is what it looks like but dont slag someone for getting what they could.
BTW he does say ONO that doesnt actually mean less !!!!!!!!!
My thoughts.

Yeah your thoughts, and maybe very different if you actually were on the phone with him. Not doubting that it seems like a steal at that price but
thats your good luck if it was bought for that price.
I will give you a near word for word quote and then we can stop crapping on about this poor buggers financial woes.................." me selling this
splitty is not about the money, its about it going to a good home, Ive already had an offer from QLD for more money than I asked but I have people
that are interested who called before him".
This was on Friday and we all continued to try and buy it. Integrity..........my ass. And I dont think anyone chasing it off the forum were looking at
changing it around for more $$$ the next day.

Angry man !!!! Thats cool just giving a different perspective. As I said dont know the guy I just know how hard it is to sell something. I also
dislike pounding people via email which is common place these days. Asking for explanations etc.........ring the guy and ask him. Hell ,met him face
to face if you are that ticked off.
As I said not having a shot at anybody however there is a difference between what you think and what you know. Please dont take "Is that you"
meaning anybody inparticular. Didnt even read the names.
I hate missing a bargin as much as the next guy......just hate anger being involved when we are talking Kombis. I have had mine for more than 10yrs I
hope I dont have to face the day where I think it has to go.
