What about changing back to a VW engine...

I may be getting a 75 kombi ute for my very own, but it has a mitsubishi engine in it with dedicated LPG.

I'm interested in changing it back to a VW engine... would this be too difficult?
I know it's been having a lot of problems with cooling.

Also, can I have LPG with a VW engine?

Maybe this isn't the right place to be asking such questions.....

May have a 4 cylinder mitsubishi engine with adapter plate for sale if this does happen....

Thanks guys!!!

Hey Jay someone put up a thread last week on LPG in a Kombi ute. Top job done on it. Have a search and see what you can find.

Hi Jay

It shouldn't be very hard, it just depends on how well it was done. Ask the the original converting person if they mucked around with the bell housing or input shaft.

I saw another post about LPG on a air cooled bus not that long ago on here, seemed to be working fine.

I don't have access to the original converting person, it was done quite a while ago...

Thanks Matt, a very interesting read.

However, change of plan for the moment at least. I will probably leave the engine reversal for sometime in the future, and just focus on getting it running right with the bits of mishi it has.

I have a faint recollection that one of the VW mechanics in Sydney has some sort of kit for putting a radiator UNDER a kombi. Can anyone tell me who it is (or if I am imagining it!)? :dork:

Thanks!

jay

Sydney... Queensland... near enough for a mexican!

Thanks Elusive Stranger, I've emailed them.

[edit] Custom Vee Dub seems to be the new name....
