shot peening Brisbane?
Anyone know of any shops in Brisvegas that offers shotpeening, need to shot peen some connecting rods i have.

make sure you first BLEND and POLISH all the DAGS of the rods first
then have them balanced and then finally Shot Peened you need to do it in these steps and you will never brake a rod again make sure
they mask the rod match numbers before shot peening
I used to do this when at Qantas it was very handy having a Aircraft Facility when building engines all sorts bikes, lawn mowers, VWS

Mendhams do it,
but it is a random cabinet and not done by hand.
Turns out well coverage though.
Very expensive too.
Another option is to use Tasman Aviation out at Amberly.
Much more expensive, but it is done with a specification.

Thanks for the advice Dave's, as for Tasman Aviation i am thinking of applying for a job there seeing i'll be moving near there soon, instead of
building one jet engine type at my current work if i get a job at tasman, i'll have the oppurtunity to work on 5 different types of gas turbine and
get shot peening done for free.

Not arguing the benefits of shot peening, but would you have broken a rod if you hadn't shot peened them? |

Factory rods are shot peened,
just not in the corners near the rod nut.
I found if you polish the beam the rod becomes significantly more flexible.
SO...
if you polish the beam, you probably should re-shot peen.
I just ran balanced stockers in my 1775 blower engine.
I did upgrade the bolts to ARP VW though at a later date.
