Engine question

Folks,
had the car tuned about two weeks ago. Was driving along nice and fine and then in traffic the engine got really sluggish and sounding like a poor sewing machine. I can get to 60 in 4th gear, but need a downhill run to get near 100, but if there is a lsight rise, I drop speed like crazy.
It starts okay, sounds a wee bit rough, has a new tank of fuel (Vortex) - filled up literally 800m after it started. No real oil smoke in exhaust.
Any suggestions? I am planning to take it back to my mecghanics on Wed, but am still in storm cleanup mode at the moment.
Cheers

could be a timing problem...
Loose connection - check coil leads -
distributor cap - rotor inside the cap..
burnt points..

does it idle OK???

carburetor blockage??

could be a problem with the accelerator pump..
maybe a cracked diaphram??
this would let the engine idle but not accelerate too well
if at all...[if completely blocked]

I wouldn't say it was the mechanics fault - just something that can happen...

Air Filter NOT blocked..?
even a bad connection with the ignition switch could cause the problem... have a relay installed to stop this..

cheers

LEE

did you fill up 800m before or after it started running rough? If it was before, you have a bad fill of fuel

Sorted,
thanks folks.
Was damn simple in the end. Was running rough before I filled up, but was still running.
So when it was cold this morning I took a look (it was also a good excuse to not start cleaning up again after the flooding).

Checked the distributor, looked fine,
Checked the spark leads, they were all on, no plugs were loose, then I saw it.......
the damn linkage to the right hand carbie was off in the middle. I reset if onto the pivot point and voilah!! It all worked fine :D
