Buggy Brad's Meyers Manx
This is my current Manx, she is based on a 1968 Ball Joint Pan with a 1975 L Bug rear end, 1800 Kombi transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, 2020cc Type 1
engine, twin 44 IDF's , 6 pt Cage, Type 181 Front end, Porsche Stub axles, 15 x 7" mags and a heap of other mods like custom pan, 3"
lift kit etc etc

Clearance .... it is funny what you can do with some 181 bits a few porsche bits a welder and a few days of spare time.
Yes I do all the mods myself. Mind you I try them out on other buggies first.... best to brake others stuff before my own....

Mr Brad son what kinda price did it cost you to build your engine !
I gonna have to donate my engine in my bug to the 56 and was thinking of building a new one with a tad bigger cam than ya running just after a rough
price / guide line to work from !

Matt, my engine cost is not comparative as I don't pay for much. Besides it only has 48HP at the rear wheels so why would you want one 
New mods are currently under way and pics will be posted when I get bored ..

Buggy Details
In light of the fact I have put her up for sale and a few commenst about what drugs am I on. Here is a quick spec sheet.
BODY
Meyers Manx Body, verified and plated, 6pt Roll cage, vdo fuel guage, vdo temp guage, vdo cylinder head temp guage, vdo oil pressure guage, vdo volts
guage, vdo 80 mm didgital speedo, vdo didgital tacho, momo sports steering wheel, sports seats.
Suspension / Running Gear
FRONT - Type 181 Trailing arms and stub axles, new german ball joints, new german tie rod ends, reinforced and sleeved tie rod, new disc rotors, new
german callipers and pads, all new flex and hard brake lines, new golf master cylinder relocated brake lines, new german steering box, custom bump
stops and new monro gas shocks. Full gussetted and seem welded front beam with twin adjusters.
REAR - IRS using 1972 superbug rear end. Modified and reinforced type 1 trailing arms, modified shock cannisters, porsche stub axles and type 2
CV's. rear disc brake kit using new rotors, callipers and flex lines, modified bump stops, twin rear swing plates, motofied top limiters.
TRANSMISSION - TYpe 2 5 rib box, fully rebuilt by Leon's Motors, back cut gear and full set of german Syncro's, Custom Offroad Soft Mount
kombi kit and modified shift linkage, new bosch starter motor.
ENGINE
2020 cc displacemnet, type 1. Built on New Alloy case with 76 stroker crank, new 92mm Mahls Barrel kit, new scat cam and followers, swivel feet
adjusters, compufire ignition, 009 dizzy,8mm leads, 44 IDF webbers, hex linkage, K&N Filters, sump breather K&N filters.
TYRES AND RIMS
15 x 7" performance mags, powder coated and balanced. 31 x 10.5 Desert Duellers on rear 215 x 75 x 15 on front.
BAR WORK
Full custom bar work, soon to be powder coated and rust proofed. Very solid with front and rear alloy bash plates.
FLOOR PAN
Custom Manx Pan, made from Ball joint front and superbug IRS rear. Pan modified and length is 13/1/2 inches from stock. 65mm lift kit from 5mm gal C
channel, 2mm checker floor halves, seam welded to kit and sticjed to tunnel, front fire wall and body seal built in. Pan was fully sandblasted, etch
primmed and epoxy painetd before being coated in industrial sealer. Pan was then hung and tectol was pumped into rear forks and tunnel while pan was
rotated to ensure maximum penitration.
OVERVIEW
All work was done in 2003 and all new parts were used. ALl brake lines and rubber bits where new and mostly german. Pretty much everything that could
be modified to increase performance was done within reason unlike my other buggy. The buggy is a fully approved vehicle and registered as a Meyers
Manx with papers and blue plates for all work done.
There is a lot of other little things that have been done but I can't think of them all at once...
It was built to be used and that is what happend to it.
