Driving games

My friends and i play a little game whenever we are driving... its a vast improvement on the punch buggy game that everyone has played. I just thought i might share it with you all, because its fun for long trips, and can get really competitive if you are driving in the city! :)

if you see a Beetle, you say "beep" because its much shorter than punch buggy!

If you see a kombi, you say "punch the billy" (I know not all kombi owners smoke, but kombis are good hippie haulers, and im sure every single one has had a stash in it at some time in its life! ;)

If you see a golf, you say "fore" (my sister came up with this one after she saw a golf and didnt know what to say about it. Needless to say i pissed myself laughing about this one!) You can also do multiples of this one if you see two golfs (becomes 8, 12 etc etc) but if you see two golfs parked next to eachother it becomes fore squared etc etc.

If you see a polo, you say "marco" (enough said)

If you see a mini, you say "mini" in a loud annoying voice

If you see a new mini on the other hand, you say "maxi" because they arent very mini!

If you see a volovo, you say "brick" because thats what they are.

My sister holds the record for the most flukey beep-ing. It was on a mountain, in the south australian outback, she spotted it from about 3 kms away. I dont think she had her eyes on the road! :P

people ask me if im bored of the game... pffft... its an excuse to look out for nice vw's such! :D

Anyone else got any driving games they like to play?

When i use to own my kingswood on the sunshine coast i would like it when an exspensive looking or new car would try to intimidate me on the road.....so i use to play the game"who cares about there car more" the game was a very basic game of chicken and people in mercs and bmw soon realised that if they hit me there repair bill could pay for my car many times over. needless to say i never lost a game.

my game

this games a bit hard to understand but.... me and my dad have a agme called 10 cars.

The idea of the game is to pick one car out of the next ten that pass your vehicle on the other side of the road, and the BEST car (not counting busses, trucks or vans) wins....

for example, say if the second car passes (out of ten) and its a 1998 Commodore, if you think this car is going to be worth the most after ten cars have passed you say "mine" before the opponent does... but now you have a risk as if the next 8 cars that pass you, one is better than your commodore youve previously chosen, you lose.

To simplify,

you have to beat your opponent to pick the best car out of the ten that pass you.

after you have picked you cannot re-choose your car

your opponent (or you if he has beeten you to choose) must beat you by having a better car drive passed..

hard to understand i know but makes good for long trips.

me and the g/f play the volvo game...simple and funny
while driving the idea is to spot volvos. each is worth one forhead slap. we can't whack each other while i'm driving(although i do occasionally sneak one in when she is falling asleep or i get bored on a long trip) all the volvo's spotted are saved and used when we get home. it's pretty much slap and run. we are known to occasionally start up in a bar or public place too, it is amusing seeing people's faces.
can also be used on long train trips

speaking of the volvo game, some friends of mine like to play "slap the saab" basically it entails giving the person next to you a slap if you spot a saab. probably not so painful in most areas, but i would think it could get quite hurtful in the city!!

now think about it... if we combine all the games above into a supergame. im sure speeding wont be of concern to the officers any more. but it would make for an interesting trip. i didnt know so many games existed. i loved the punch buggy as i dont have kids and i love the fights it caused in cars as we passed by.

my brother dad and i used to play a simple game of 'spot the make'. simply be the first to call out what make and model of hte car that we passed first. we got real good at recognising tail lights and head lights at night.

Well mine driving game only indiretly involves cars, and when I think about it, it's a little sick really.

You oryour co-pilot get one point for every roadkill you spot. You get a bonus point if you can identify what it used to be before someone hit it (this is the loose connection to cars!), and you lose a point if you accidentally identify logs or tyres or rubbish as a dead animal.

My ex and I used to play very competitively, and it's one of my favourite memories of an otherwise best forgotten relationship :D

Unfortunately my kids won't play it with me :( Especially my daughter, who's a vegitarian!

When I came in here I thought it was about driving simulation type games. I was going to rant on about driving 356's in Need For Speed - Porsche 2000!!! :thumb

I say "$41TB0X" every time I see a 10-years-or-older Nissan. I don't mean to offend anyone, I have what I refer to as "Automotive Turret's Syndrome" :D:D:D
