drag racing and windows
Just a quick question if anyone knows, or can link me a site that can tell me?
Does a beetle need to have windows in the doors for drag racing?(warwick style) or are window nets enough. I know windows help for the wind resistence
etc, but im not looking at uber ET's so that doesnt really bother me. I've been told yes they do need windows, but then seeing the manx's out at
Wariwick without any nets or anything made me rethink this. any help would be greatly appreciated

If the car came with windows it must have them up.
Convertables too. Top must be up.
A Manx does not fit any ANDRA rules for sedans since no doors,
but at Warwick some things are relaxed to help entrant numbers.
Those rules become more strict if the car is faster than 12 seconds, and even tougher at steps of 10.99 and 9.99.
If you run in the 8's there are more rules , but if you go that fast it will be world news.

They would have done that just in case your car flipped and your hands went out of body structure. I seem to remember Henry Spicak having wear arm
restraints when he ran his buggy for the same reason.

You should be allright with window nets if the windows are taken out allthough they may ask you to wear arm restraints as well.
I have raced at willowbank in a car with a roof and no side windows(moke) and it was fine as it didn't go quicker than 13.99(I think thats the
cutoff)

Bah, where's the fun in that? not like its gonna be a race car anyways.
So basically it seems to come down to how picky the scrutineers are on the day
