Replacement speedo/odo cogs

I have two km/h speedos with non-operating odos due to the little drive cogs being split on the odo axle/shaft. Super Glue doesn't work... does anyopne know of a source for new drive gears?

Seem to remember some one doing a brass one because the plastics one split

There was a source either through the brickyard (T3 speedos suffer the same problem) or it was that guy on SBO that does the coloured speedo faces

these can still be purchased new from speedo places... i bought one a few years ago for my 74 beetle speedo. approx $5
its a common fault due to the age of the gear and the stress on it when it has to rotate all the odometer numbers together... ie when it changes from 99999 to 00000

use the oportunity to lubricate all the gears once you reassemble them.

Blu, if you could let me know of *your* speedo place, that would be great - the old 'main' one in Sydney closed down his spare parts/repair services earlier this year. (although there is another recommended by Steve C that I am yet to try for parts).

It appears there are different cogs for MPH and km/h so stripping one for the other doesn't work

There is a place at Salisbury in Brisbane, Lionel Otto instruments, on Evans Rd. He has done some for my old man on his minis.

There is also another mob I used at Coopers Plains years ago for speedo parts but don't have an address
