what happened to the downhill????

sorry but just wandering (and it may well be really obvious) why is there no downhhill racing done here i mean your in a car that weighs less than 800 kilo (bugs) with relativly low power but a rear wheel and rear engine base. Shouldn't downhill be more prominent then with power meaning less and weight meaning more.
just curious...

Hmmm... I thought downhill was really only for billy cart and sleds and other things that didn't have engines... I've never heard of downhill racing for powered/engined vehicles. Do you know any info around on it ???

Most motorsport is designed around cars other than beetles.... but even then, the power to weight and traction advantages that a beetle has can scare quite a lot of other "sportier" cars... just look at how well the beetles do at Hillclimb in NSW, or some of the drag racing in Qld.
