I'm closer to Hervey bay than you guys, but it is still an hr or 2 north. What sort of bolt will do? Is it a rocker post stud? Bushed is closer but still miles away and not sure if he's online.

Sorry you had such a dull night last night Ian...:D.....just spoke to Rose and put her in touch with Bushed, he is currently in M'borough and has contacts there for the studs.

Should all work out ok.

Well here I am home at last, what an adventure I have had.

A lovely motor mechanic from Marybourough QLD actually drove up to Hervey Bay to meet me to give me two studs.

A big thanks to all the vee dub duds who helped me get 2 studs. lol.

It was very very hot up there to hot.

Put my bug back to gether and it got me 150klms before somthing let go big time in the engine.
About 17klms out of Kilkevan in QLD. Lucky im in the nrma premium care I did this before I left maybe I put the mocker on my self as I have driven the bug everywhere.

While the engine is out might be a chance to make it go faster lol.

It's a pitty I didn't get to drive it home.

It must have just had enough and wanted a lift home on a carrier poor bug.

Don't have many pics. but will post some soon as I have been away for a week and have to clean the house as Ian has gone off to the summernats. One good thing at least I get some peace for a while

Thank god for mums they come in handy as I was travelling with her on the way home. So I had to unload all my crap into her van and car she couldn't believe how much I could fit in my bug. She said no wonder it stopped :lol:

Thanks heaps guys hope you had a great new year I did in Hervey Bay by the pool and spa drinking my champers.

I might go for a drive in Ian's bug tomorrow if he lets me :lol::lol:

Sounds like he should hide the keys, glad it all worked out well, let us all know what the problem was. I reckon you blew it when you started braging about getting up there with only a blown brake light bulb. And a happy new year to ya:smilegrin::rolleyes::crazy:

Hi
It was Jeff he said he would look after if for me until the car carrier came to pick it up sometime this week. It will be fixable ready to go again out on the road. I think I will retire it from drag racing in the future and just use Ian's vee dub instead to drag race lol.
I just want it home again.

He said he's selling the business, nice little town. I was born in Gympie not far from there.

my oval is finally on his way home

My brother in-law just saw it on a car carrier at Tintenbar Range it looked liked the truck driver was pulled over to have his sleep.

So it looks like he will definitely be home tomorrow yippee I was starting to get withdrawals.:lol:
