Cobra Classic Bucket seats Has Any one fitted them to Beetle

Has any one used / fitted these seats in a beetle before ?

http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/ProductImages/MedProductImages/245-Classic%20Black%20White%20Front.jpg

I have seen them in a white kombi for sale on AVD a few years back and they looked good. Just curious as to the difficuty to fit them.
According to supplier, they fit them to minis and the pivot the whole seat forward from the front mount for rear seat access.

I did see them in the guys splitty that he had up from tassie a couple years back at the day of.
I'd been looking at these for a while for my bug, so I asked him about them.
He'd just welded on some steel frames to the base and bolted straight in. I think they were fixed, and he didnt have any adjustment in them, but that would just be a matter of what frame was welded to the base.
His were red, and they looked fantastic. Very comfy too.

thanks for the link, $400 a piece? dam thats a bit steep for such a small seat. having read it though sounds like theyre made for beetles and mini's and the likes, but id say you'll have to figure out some custom brackets for it and the tipping mechanism you speak of it wouldn't be too hard to fabricate something like that yourself.

Cobra Seats look great, the perfect looking bucket.

Below is a picture of a set of Cobra seats in an Old-School Cal-Looker. The picture is from the Bug Show at Spa - 2000.

Take a look at the picture, can anyone work out whether the seating position would be too low for a Beetle?
As we all know, Beetle seats are more like dining room chair than sports car bucket.

IE: The back of the Cobra seat is well below the door line, the steering wheel looks as though it would be inline with your face, and the road would be seen by looking under the wiper arm.

I guess it works for Craig Lowndes!

Can anyone work out the height of the seat?
Would it work on the road, or is it just show pony seat?

i have these in my buggy and have fitted a set to a custtomers car - they are a great old school looking seat and nice to sit in- my local revolution store sells them for $350/seat - cheap if you price buying fibreglass buckets and having them trimmed - and they are adr approved
thanks adam

Adam, I agree with you, the price is good for the seats and the subframes are around $190.00.
They must perfect for a buggy, do you have any pictures?
Adam, from your experience, do you think they would be suitable in a Beetle, ie: is the seating position higher enough to see adequately?

Thanks,
Zayus

the seating position is only as high as your rails, just make the as high as you need. ive got old saas buckets in my baja and they have a similar profile but they are highback, the fit perfectly, i have high rails because i like to be high up when driving.
