Split Kombi Rotary

I know there's plenty of rotary power getting around in Beetles, but does anyone know of any Rotary Powered Split Kombi's?? I've heard people say that Rotaries are lower in torque / high in power, and therefore wouldn't be good to power the heavier Kombi chassis?

Thoughts everyone?

Have a look at Zenjoes site

http://www.geocities.com/zenjoe/

It has a forum with topics surrounding this very question....

Cheers

You've already covered my thoughts Squizy, although a splittie isn't really a heavy vehicle - certainly not as heavy as a 70's kombi. :)

Hi

I reckon a Subaru motor would be a nicer swap.

Forget the rotary

I'm with Steve C on this...Go for th Subi swap, forget the rotor! The Subi will be a much nicer engine to live with & a EJ20T might just be legal!

go rotor, it'll be an easier and far cheaper swap than the ej20. plus the buckets and bucket of power.

A turbo rotary has great tourque, But I'm not sure I want to bother argueing in favour of rotaries on a vw forum again as It gets my blood presure up and doesn't really make any difference to me in the end, If you would like facts about rotaries and not fiction feel free to send me a U2U I have had many and think they are great but I also would consider other options. :D
Cheers Tony

I'm not in the process of doing it - not even on my agenda. It's a question that's been buzzing around my head for years and I wanted to throw it out there. Thanks for all the feedback both for, against, and in between. The Zenjoe site is full of heaps on information - thanks for suggesting it.
