This is an Australian film, so it is quite special in a number of ways.

Club Veedub has a copy of this on VHS, which was recorded from the original 16mm film. It is a current project to convert this onto DVD for members to borrow. Hopefully a bit better resolution than the grainy YouTube footage!

It came on dvd with the Davies brothers Volkswagen Australia history book if you bought the limited edition numbered one, along with another short promotional movie made by Volkswagen Australia in the 60s.

No, I missed that one! I only got the standard edition.

Another classic 1960s Australian 16mm VW film was Taxi to Rumdoodle, about the Antarctica 1 VW. We also have that on 16mm and VHS, but not (yet) converted to DVD.

For anyone interested you can save the files to your computer so you can keep them, you need to copy and paste the links into this website, then save the files:

http://www.keepvid.com

use the following links:

1/3
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=yNRBfy8ay4E

2/3
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=MiCojp22cj8

3/3
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=TfvJl8-sdBY

the keepvid website lets you save the files in ether a .flv or .mp4 file format,

you need a video program called VLC player to watch these.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

This is great for videos that you don't want to loose, as sometimes videos are removed from YouTube.

Yep, videos like this are good for watching on an ipod, but that's about it, quality is poor on a large computer screen.

excellent Videos..

Beetles were just about hand made...

How would you like to be putting in 20 or so windscreens in a day.. or rear windows...?? Yikes...

I wonder if those two spray painters ever used the wrong color on one side..???

I'd like to see how they assemble the glass in a door... etc

what about the gearlever and base being bolted into place

Now, We All know its NOT that easy... lol

GREAT VIDEOS... shame all that Money down the drain..
VW Germany ended up taking over the running of the factory ...but it didn't help...

LEE

the factory ended up making VWs Volvos and Datsuns along with Mercedes Benz trucks...
all were painted with the same colors... lol.. LEE
