its NOT Paint... but lack of...= rust..

seeing the beetle has a surfboard on top...

and the beetle probably has been parked near the ocean...

its most probably REAL rust...
something You don't really want....

check out the beetle Rat look....

its NOT paint but real old rusted cars....

Lanoline or similar products are applied over the paint & rust to stop any further rust....

Hi

Looks like someone has played around with the hue and saturation colour levels in something like PhotoShop on that picture.

I would say that photo isn't an accurate indication of the actual car's colour.

yep it is frenzix old beetle
the paint on this bug is from age and the elements only, found this way!
if you want a car like this, best to find one unrestored and replace any structural rust etc.
don't try and make it, it always looks crap real patina comes with age.
cheers,
bob

yup thats tims old 58 on the road out to rocky creek dam
the paint job is the original battleship grey just aged gracefully thanks to 20 odd years in storage
and thats just a photoshoot shot Lee, its an incredibly solid bug actually

if u like the rusted look do some searching for the teabag squareback
this is the only pic ive taken of it but its probably the most authentic looking artificial patina ive seen
i just noticed tims old bug is parked behind it to with the same surfboard on the roof
probably taken around the same time given those look like valla cabins in the background

Hey mate. I just thought I would let you know that a 75 Super is not going to touch weeds like the beetle you posted. I think with the two bolt struts on the 75's your only going to get a few inches drop at most. If your going with the patina 'rat' look ya gotta slam it! Just food for thought. Aww just tell me to shut up already.

You can puchase a specialty paint that provides the rusted look. It develops real rust and is maonly used in building construction. In Newcstle it can be purchased at the Paint store in Wickham. I was looking at for the iron under my deck around the pool but when I realised it created actual rust I thought again. Go to a speicalty paint shop and ask. I dunno if I would put on a vehicle though.
