VW's @ Melbourne Hot Rod Show

Hi All, I visited the Melbourne Hot Rod show and the Royal Exhibition Buildings today. I thought I would post a few pic's and maybe someone knows more of the story about these vehicles.

The first was this very nice 1969 Beetle. It had an 1970 expiry rego label so I wondered if someone has put it aside for posterity as a totally original Aussie Beetle.

The second was this Tye 3 wagon drag car which was pormoting a "sell-your-car" website. The thing that caught my eye was the (I assume) nitrous rig in the rear.

The young guy in the front seat was thrilled to have his photo taken.

If anyone was looking for something to do over the long weekend, there were many, lots, heaps of nice rods and classic restorations at the show. About 90% Ford and Holden/Chev and only 2 VW's. I took 175 photo's today which I will need to sort through.

All the best, Dino.

EXCELLENT BEETLE

thats some rest on the 69 beetle....

I would have though club plates would be the norm
for a car of that calibre..
