68 beetle air vents and petrol gauge sender
Hi im just wondering if anyone has the piping that goes behind the dash board plus the vents inside. Ive got three vent holes on dash. Also does
anyone know how to check if my fuel sender is broken and how to check if it works.

if u mean the plastic vent trim under the w/screen
me thinks I have at least 2 and a few connections etc incl the air/rainwater box thingy and drain
Sender works if it shows appropriate amount of fuel in tank, correctly on guage..he he ie shows full on guage when tank full ! empty when empty
but check more levels.
want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!

maybe u mean the vent flaps? have to look if there (is a 71 super)
want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!

best way is to test the gauge by ignition on and earthing the wire that goes to the sender unit
if it make the gauge move then the sender needs attention

also make sure the sender unit is earthed properly to the tank (and the tank earthed properly to the body)
- sometimes this could be an issue as well -

My son Mick posted this and the vents he means are the vents behind the dash to the outlets inside plus the flaps that fit from inside (not absolutely
neccessary). The rainwater box/intake is not needed. I could see your answer coming from a mile off bushed!!
