SOLDSOLDSOLD**FOR SALE** Pobjoy 1916, twin plugs, 44 IDF's -TURNKEY-
Michael
Hurstville/Miranda in Sydney
Contact me via PM or michael@alinepumps.com
For sale is my Pobjoy 1916 engine with twin plugs, Pobjoy anti-surge sump and complete new parts.
This engine has about 2,000km's on it (speedo is in miles and reads at 85%) and has been on the road for one year.
The price is for complete turn key - everything on the engine is new. The dual 44idf webers are new 'spain made' (not EMPI!!) carbs with the redline
linkage kit.
Bosch alternator, some chromed parts, regulator etc plus new stainless steel extractors and muffler.
The engine is currently still in the car and a test drive can be had (for those who want to buy, not waste my time..please).
This was built entirely by Stan, it was even fitted in the car by him.
Peak power is 5500rpm, revs to 6200rpm no problems (i go to 6000 when really pushing though)
Not interested in parting bits out as of yet, but may be if the 'turn key' interest is not there.
Please PM or email for details
PRICE: $6,200 - complete turnkey, with extractors and muffler.

Hi Mick,
I would love to buy this, but the wife would kill me. If I ask to come for a test ride, dont let me as I probably wont be able to say no and the wife
will kill me again. Good luck with the sale and is it just a coincident or did you plan on $1 per RPM - revs to 6200rpm and asking $6200
I was talking to a guy at the Club VeeDub meeting the other night and he raves about Pobjoy motors and races them. He couldn't give them enough
praise. So I'm sure that the motor is everything that you say and will be a great buy for someone. Wish this was in about 6-8 months time.
All the best with the sale, Kevin

ha! - sounds like my wife when i bought it from Stan! I blame Craig Torrens - he took me for a spin, i was hopeless after that.
$1 per rev, didn't notice - but that makes it clean!
Hellbug - its not an alloy case.
Thanks for the words lads
ill try and get some more pic's up - to show the pretty bits underneath.

Hellbug - im not sure - My last beetle had a rotory in it so i don't know heaps about VW engines.
I asked Stan for a Base 1916 engine and he built it - the paper work mentions Crank balancing, so maybe its not? Im not too sure.
I think its more than fair to say that the engine is worth the $6200 - its complete turn key - i've got a few people interested and will await their
phone calls - if they fall through i might start parting.
Im aslo happy to provide FREE DELIVERY to pretty much ANYWHERE in AUSTRALIA - PM me first if this helps and i will double check the pricing - we ship
700kg loads all over Australia from work, so i can send things at a good price.
Feel free to PM me if you are interested in the parting out option - that way i can reply to you straight away if there is no turnkey option - it may
even sway me to part it out sooner if all the parts would go.
Basically it would be.
Webers with linkage
exhaust
Engine long block (with or without twin plugs)
twin plug set-up (dizzy, twin coils and leads)
Alternator
Anti-surge sump
tinware
etc

nothing standard about the way they accelerate though - if your looking at a 1916 come for a spin and you'll be impressed - sure you can fork out
8-9k for all the brand names, but whats the point if it doesn't go any faster or even last for years.
No bull here - a trusted engine thats been built by one man for many years - they last forever and are quick.
ill put some parting prices up today but need enough interest in ALL the parts to go that way - don't want to be caught out with half an engine worth
of parts and no one interested in them. losing enough money on the $6200 figure.

I can't believe this hasn't sold yet. It is a bargain for what you would get.
Looked closely at it at the Nats when it was brand new and it looked fantastic.
Michael, maybe you should tell people why you are getting rid of it so soon after having it built.
Have you had any problems with an engine built by Stan?
No points left on the licence?
Surely you are not putting a Subaru in your beautiful car???
