Valuation

Hi Everybody,

I have a 1984 Golf GTI cabriolet which was recently involved on an accident.

At the time my wife was driving it and it had broken down, there was an altercation with a truck and car and the car hit the Golf, did quite a bit of damage apparently (I haven't seen it). Fortunately the girl in the car (which flipped) wasn't hurt and my wife was able to jump out of the way to avoid getting crushed between our car and wall.

We only have Third Party Property insurance on that car, so now we have to chase the truck company's insurance company for the repair.

What I want to find out is where I can get a value for this car - VWs weren't sold here in that year so they don't appear in the Red Book or Glass's Guide.

Previous to the accident the car was in VG condition, it only has around 129,000 on the clock, a new hood and lining last year. Altho it wasn't running, ;^)

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

Dave
