Dam mate.
You have some really nice buggies for sale. i didn't think you would ever sell this little blue beast.
I sent you a message a little while back regarding the grey buggy but got no reply so invested in something else.
I have past on your info to a couple of other people.

BJ front end is the standard balljoint front end that is on the beetle. They also have Ball joints opposing each other where they connect to the
spindles. This will be fine in most applications, but for serious offroading, there is the potential to pop one out.
181 front end is the beefed up, super tough front end that came out on the Country Buggy. It has bigger balljoints (well everything is bigger) and
they are in the same orientation where they connect to the spindles.
If you want a tough off roader with excellent clearance in the front end - you would go 181.
Mind you they are not cheap and parts are getting harder to find. You are probably looking at $1500 or more to change your front end over.

Billy, this is what i have found out today.
1. After several checks with the Aust Customs they have informed me that if you do not inport the buggy in your name i get slugged with 10% GST and
10% Import Duty as the vehicle has been registered i another Country.
2. I then was put on to AQIS (Australian Quarantine & Inspection Service)
who told me the vehcile has to be cleaned, "as new" (no soil, seeds, grass) prior to shipping to Australia (hopefully the PFL do or organise this).
9 times out of 10 they need to be re steam cleaned then re inspected. Approx costing Steam clean $400 + $89 per 1/2 hour needed. Generally 1k is
exceeded very quickly
3. Once the buggy has landed it is then subject to a wharf fees, about $400 to take off the vessel and to quarantine inspections depot.
At the moment i am still waiting for returned calls with further info.
The shipping side of things was as you stated above about $2000 but it has to be in your name, and passed through Customs ready for me to pick up.
Also there is the a "Approval to Import Notice", which has to
be lodged by the importer, which takes 3 wks minimum to
be approved .
I do like it, but till its in Australia for sale without any dramas or hidden costs im out.
Good luck with them man, there nice buggies
Dan

Billy have you already got the "Approval to Import Notice", cause that takes a
minimum of 3 weeks to get approved

"minus the gst and duty $6000aud
doesnt anyone want a cheap buggy"
Ropate
In Australia for $6000aud without GST and DUTY because it
will have to come in in Billys name, so the above does not count
as he is just bringing HIS vehicle back into the country.
Sounds pretty good as long as it gets past through Customs quarantine
inspection Means it has to be cleaned properly over there in Fiji.
The aproval to import has to be done becasue it may not get approved.

If it is re entered into the coultry by anybody else other
than Billy, the person who took the vehicle out of Australia
they will be charged to 10%GST and 10%Duty.

I have spoken to Customs several times and it is all sweet
as long as it comes back into the country by the person who
shipped it out.
So all good there Ropate Customs have been fine with it.

Shipping has to be arranged by billy so the buyer does not have to pay
Import Duty n GST, I will pay 6000 if this is done. If the buyer has to
organise the shipping and the vehicle arrives in Aust not cleaned as per Quarantine
requirements they will have to foot the bill to have the vehcile taken
to Quarantine and cleaned. Can easily cost over $1000 - $2000 easily due to their high fees.

Just another Question on the Lil Blue Buggy,
Is it previously registered as a buggy or a vw beetle?

No.
That buggy is a genuine manx and was a hell of a good deal.
Not saying billy's isn't a good deal. Just that manx was an awsome buy.
