Water/air intercooler

In the process of fitting a H2O/air I/C to the Spyder. What do you think of the size of the radiator?

I've got a corolla radiator on my kombi and it is a long way overkill. The temperature of it doesnt move. I dont know if oil coolers are as efficient as cooling water as a radiator. I suspect it will be OK for a street car cos you are never on boost for too long.

as a guide I would look at what size and type a standard subaru with a water/air IC is. Have you tried that?

I know of a couple of people using oil coolers who gave up as the fittings are so restrictive. Why not use the original Legacy unit?

Amazer, the pump is a Davis Craig. Magnetic drive so no seal but $220...oouuch!
The inlet and outlet are -10 (5/8" as in the intercooler fittings) so I should be right as far as restrictions. I'll try it this weekend and if to low a capacity then I'll find a Liberty unit or similar.
Got to be better than 100C inlet temp as now.

Hang on,
that looks almost exactly the same as an early(ish) 90's Subaru intercooler, like from a liberty rs turbo, judging by the outlet direction.
Niceties.

The Spyder will more than likely be at the bar so you can check the system before saturday.
I'm gona do the $10 boost upgrade as well and fit a bleed valve on the wastegate actuator signal line.

Got the intercooler mounted today, almost looks factory, and increased the boost by 5psi using a Turbosmart bleed valve.
