tyre width ratio,(front to back?)

hi,i have original,(i think?) steel rims on my squareback that have been widened,(6"front and 7" rear both with 205/65/15s),i want to lower it but the front wheels/tyres will definatly rub, could i in theory put the 6" ones on the back still with the 205's and put some 4.5's on the front with 165's or is that to much difference between the two?,id like to keep the wide ones at the back as i think they would tuck up ok and look cool !!

I have 5 1/2" rims on the rear of my bug with 215's and 4 1/2" with 165 's on the front no problems looks good and doesn't rub anywhere so I say do it

i think it should work, just depends on how far you lower it, wheel offset and tire profile.. lower profile the better for no rubbing...

could be a squeeze to get 205's in if u have IRS..
