Passengers in the Rear - Ghia
Just wondering about the legalities of carrying passengers in the back of my Karmann Ghia Vert. It's a 70 model so includes the rear back bench,
however no seat belts.
My rego papers state it is a 2 seater.
Is it just a matter of having seat belts fitted and engineer approved to have it re-classified? If so, who can you recommend in the Sydney area.
Thanks,
Nikos.

Go to MYRTA.com .au for a list of certified engineers or an AUVIS station who will be able to help.As the car is listed as a 2 seater only an engineer
can do a change of detail.

It doesn't necessarily have to have seatbelts fitted. If belts were never fitted, then you don't have to have them. Seems like an error with the
RTA. Is LHD/RHD conversion and import?

Yeah it was imported approx 15 years ago and converted from LHD to RHD by the previous owner.
Might query with the RTA first. Perhaps it is a stuff up at their end. Either way I'll probably get belts fitted down the track for safety.
Thanks fellas.
