I had a look at this square last night, if anyone wants some details.
But I am fairly new to VW's so no technical questions please :tu:

No pics from me sorry. Yeah it is a '72, it looked brown to me, but that could have been the dust on it and the lights in his shed, or my colour blindness :?:
It had a couple of decent sized dings on the passenger side in the door and rear quarter and one on the drivers side in the rear quarter, but looked like they would pop out with minimal bodywork. Some small rust spots in the lower front guards by the doors and a tiny spot under the windscreen, that I saw. It was the original paint with no signs of any repairs.
The interior was ok but the drivers seat and door card had seen better days. the rest looked pretty good. He said all the electricals worked and it was always kept well maintained mechanically for his mum.
I was ummming and ahhhing all day today but rang him back to say no, only because I want to wait for an early square.

I had a look at it. The colour is Radar Red, black int, late 72 Auto.(delivered 11/72) . He said it was OG 74000 miles and was as mitchellgolds said also I saw it had had a repair to the right hand front guard, slight hit on front VW badge and some trim missing. both sides had been side swiped in parking accidents(some pissed old mate got it twice in one night a the bowls club!!). Other than that seemed to be all there dirty and seen heaps of sun. Would clean up OK.
