URGENT!!! WTB Rack and pinion steering column complete with ignition barrel and steering wheel!!
Hey Guys if anyone could help me find a complete steering column including barrel and wheel that would be great!!!!! either u2u or give us a buzz at

Hey Steve, i think the rack and pinion shaft is actually 20mm longer than L bug, I have a few here but no late superbug shafts....... Thanks anyway

Pete, im converting my bug over to rack and peanut, ive only done mock ups so far but everything bolted up fine so like steve said should be ok to use
any Lbug one
the shaft with the 2 universals is different in length tho

Oh ok now it makes sense,the only drama I have now though is finding the longer shaft with the two uni's haha!!
What a nightmare, I suppose this is what happens when someone else has a crack at it before it comes down to the shop!!. The joys the joys

Hi
Vintage have new shafts with the 2 universals. I converted a 72 bug to rack & pinion and used the late long factory shaft, it all hooked up OK.
I've also seen the short shafts lengthened with a sleeve, bit rough and I'm sure the RTA or whoever would frown on it.
