I FREAKING BROKE IT!!!!! (QLD)

hi guys and gals, ive got a 40mm DCNF webber carb, and while in the process of rebuilding it i managed to break one of the legs that holds the fuel float in the float chamber. I'm wondering if anyone has an old one lying around, or even just the top half? without it im stuffed, i cant afford a new carb, and i doubt its fixable.

that will learn me for trying to do it right.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Crap wrong category, sry was kinda in a foul mood when i posted it

wow interesting idea, i did think about that for a sec, then assumed it was a bit silly.. thanx for proving otherwise. the pieces that broke are a perfect break, so maybe drill little holes in each peice and glue em back on with that metal putty stuff??

otherwise. any idea what the brand was of the putty??

thanx heaps for the promt reply :)

just that 2 part you rub together comes in a big stick you cut the amount you need and rub them together we drilled the small holes to give it a place to grip
good luck

ok, i got the metal stuff, could only find a loctite brand, but it says its automotive, fuel resistant and can be used on aluminium castings.

OMG what a fiddly job....
so i used a mixture of greedy's idea and my own. i filed the surfaces down, drilled 1/16 holes in both the broke bits and the body, and pinned it, test fitted, then mashed it together with the uber paste, now im gonna let it cure for a good day or 2 just to be sure to be sure.
then file it all down, and bolt it together.
now the only thing that can go wrong is if the product doesnt do what it says it does
will post pics soon

but if anyone still has an old body of a 40mm DCNF lying around id still rather buy that for the part
