I had a post purchase inspection done and I found Shane @ Cartek to be quite reasonable on price and very knolwedgeable.
There a few VW specialist around, V and T Motors at Lonsdale were quite good also.
Living in the country I have settled on a local repco outlet as they have a mechanic VW enthusiast.

I used to take my beetle there and when they were called the VeeDub Centre. They were good but perhaps a bit impersonal at times as they're bigger
than many garages. I've bought plenty of parts there too. Even though they now focus on all models of cars they still have a bit of VW know-how. I
think phaeton (member here) takes his KG there.
I prefer to take my Golf to a VW specialist for some reason even though it's miles out of my way. I go to GHR motors on Daws Road Mitchell Park.
It's a bit of an old-school place with great service and fair prices.
