MkI Carbs

hey people

just wondering what the best carb option for my mkI golf is without spending the money required for Webbers.

as much as they are the ideal, is there a decent brand out there that do a good job?

cheers

How much performance/economy are you after. A good compromise is a progresive two barrel Weber. Often pick one up s/h with manifold, can go really well when sorted.

Not sure these days, need to fish around here, fleabay or on the watercooled site, I'd expect a used kit for a couple of hundred dollars or so.

the passat ts came out with a 2 barrel solex didta carb and they made a fair bit more power than a 1600 golf and they were only 1500
you might also be able to get a weber or pieburg carb and manifold off a late model import golf
try matt at camden gti on 0423052737 he should be able to help
