Going all Jason Look, well.... german look. .... Wheels!!!
I'm going for a Cal Look on my 73' - well at least i think its Cal Look..
And I'm thinking about what wheels will look good and Fit. I hate wheels that stick out past the fender....!!! Also need to know if any of these dont
go with front standard disks.....
(I think I see Cal Look like this.....ish)
Along the lines of... decklid standoff's... no chrome strips... no badges.. indicators in the bumper up front... S - bug rear lights... 1 piece
windows.. Smooth and almost modern for an old car... yeah?
These are some idea's.....
Looks good in the 5 stud.. not converting though... haha
Tyres...... White walls or not....
Going on to...
I'd love to hear your thoughts....... on what you think would suit...

cal - 50s drag car crossed with show pony from what it looks like shese days, most over done thing ever as far as vw shows go, suits the 50-60s bugs
tho
GL - more race car style, low, clean lines, no chrome, big wheels, big brakes, big power, carbon fiber if your loaded
its a strut bug, it looks better as german, check out the superbeetlesonly forums/gallery you should get the idea, that being said it hasnt stopped a
few making ratrods and such from supers, when it comes down to it though, are you making it look like that to suit you or someone else?

fun hey............some people know the tricks to saving designs
so you can show them, i think it's something to do with printing and saving the file ready to print, then editing it to cut out the titles etc

If you have paint and a PC - you can just print screen. then you could take it into photo shop and change the exhaust and make it one piece windows,
color code the wheels to match the body.
The down fall of mac's is that they dont have paint... or a print screen feature... not a huge let down really . Im going to go on the other computer and try and make a few... maybe.

go to a few shows and talk to owners that have 1pce windows
i had them in my black bug and hated them, and i bought a kit for my Lbug and never installed them
they look nice but unless you spend ages setting them up right and get better scrapers than what they come with theyre more a pain as they rattle and
leak plus u have to hack up the door to fit them
theres plenty of callook supers check the SBO gallery, its full of them,
but then again theres probably more german lookers than anything in there
basics of germanlook is pretty much about turning a bug into a baby porsche with the power and handling to match

considered the riviera? (5 spoke wheel for 4 stud beetle- its in bugselecta) kinda like a porsche fuch if detailed & you squint a little, or the
wheels Vforce has... may not suit your tastes but you never know.

Print screen on a MAC (OS X)
Control (apple) + shift + 3 = print current screen (all of it)
Control (apple) + shift + 4 = select what to print.
Your screen captures will be sent to your desktop as .png file - import into Photoshop (or whatever you have) and Bobs your uncle!

pffft go play with your 6 volt electrics and 4 wheel drums
colonel, if i was going old school cal look, sure go with a nice cream like that 76 you found, keep the original chrome trim, Tbars would be my
preference but are illegal now depending who you ask otherwise stocko chrome bumpers, possibly a wood slat rack, dumped with some black and chrome
detailed sprintstars
thats these puppies:
a more modern callook that id go for tho would be pretty much the same cept maybe sans chrome strips and some 17" black and chrome BRMs

I was thinking about getting the BRM's in 4 spoke, but painted same as the car. I also want to paint the bumpers the same color. Im against the
chrome accents...

The only think that i wont be changing is the screen/bonnet.
Im going to go for pre 72 fenders and the tri color tombstone lights up the back. Iv got a two louver decklid that iv started to sand down ready for
paint - going for engine lid standoffs (vwcool... - when i can afford
it) - 74L on front bumper for the indicators...

Get yourself some old copies of Hot VW's and VW Trends magazine for ideas from mild to wild. The Cal look is about keeping things simple. It went
through many different styles ranging from full dechroming, to the recent resto-Cal trend, where body chrome is kept. It's basically about the stance
and wheels, and if you can afford it, paint and motor.
